Jewelry maker drops suit against Sharon Osbourne

One of the world’s leading jewelry licensers, Lucas Design International, has abandoned its lawsuit against KWIKA client Sharon Osbourne.  Lucas had claimed that Ms. Osbourne, represented by KWIKA partners Howard Weitzman and Jeremiah Reynolds, agreed to license her name and promote a Sharon Osbourne jewelry collection with the company, then canceled the deal.

Breach of express oral contract and breach of implied contract were the claims in the original lawsuit, but court records suggest that Lucas was planning to amend its action with new charges.  Then suddenly it dismissed the case on the very day that depositions of company officials were to begin.  “There was no settlement,” emphasized Jeremiah.  Counsel for the jewelry giant could not be reached for comment.
